Training or Lack there of 3/24- 3/30


Not much to report- still having a lot of trouble with my calf injury. My lower back doesnt want to seem to hold my adjustments, and the two are definitely related.


3/24 M AM: 3 mi run easy, Bio Freeze, 40 min sauna/1000 abs
PM: lifted 1 hour

3/25 T AM- 3 mi run, BF; 40 min Sauna/1000 abs
PM- 3 mi run- FAST!!!! B F

3/26 W- AM- horrible pain- rest
PM- lifted 1 hour; walked 2 miles

3/27 Th AM- 45 min of walking on tred- 12 incline; 45 min sauna/1000 abs
PM- 0- rested calf

3/28 F- Rested calf, 45 min sauna/1000 abs
PM- acupuncture- not feeling well
3/29 Sa- walked 3 miles- * STEVE*
PM- 40 min sauna/1000 abs

3/30 Su-

TOTAL- Ran 9 miles :-( Walked- ?

Please Move Your Token 2 Steps Backwards- training of 3/10- 3/23

For now, the plan is NO STRETCHING!!!! BIO-FREEZE, walk or test run, BIO FREEZE and ice, then sauna and core work, upper body lifting, and then repeating the first part. My calf is still tender to the touch, so I'm praying that this won't be a 2 month ordeal.


I wish I had more to report-
3/10 through 3/16: I ran a total of 30 miles, and walked 2.5; 3 lifting sessions, saunaed almost every day, with 1000 abs per sauna, and had my first visit with Steve.... Hurt calf on Monday's hill workout, acupuncture too

3/17- 3/23: Even worse: Ran 0 miles; walked 18- had chiro, acupuncture, and Steve, lots of sauna and abs, lifted 3 times also

Pain, Suffering, Misery and Frusteration. 4/10- Current

I didnt post last weeks training, so I'll be combining it with this week. Unfortunatly, just when things were really starting to look up, they took a dive for the worst.

Monday evening I was running my hill workout. I noticed my left leg, ( the weak one thats been atrophed and in a mold for so long) was feeling funny. At some point during the work out, "funny" turned to burning-

Is it a tear, or a fracture? Who knows... I'll keep you updated....

Training from 3/3 to 3/9 "No News Is Good News"

Not much new to report this week. I bumped my 4 mile loop up to a 6 mile one, mostly just because I was bored with the 4, and when I changed to 6 it didnt feel any different on my legs.


M- AM- 6 miles on NCR
PM- lifted 1 hour; 4 miles very fast on NCR! ( workout)

T- AM- 6 miles on NCR
PM- 6 miles on NCR

W- AM- 6 miles on NCR
PM- lifted 1 hour; 4 mile progession Run- hammered last mile- felt great

Th AM- 6 miles on NCR; 40 min Sauna/abs, tanned
PM- *acupuncture*; 6 miles on NCR- feeling very good

F AM- 6 miles on NCR; 45 min sauna/abs
PM- lifted 1 hr; feeling sick--> 3 mile treadmill workout; 15 min drills, 15 min sauna/abs

Sa AM- 6 miles on NCR after 3 hours sleep- groggy as hell
PM- 6 mile on NCR- hail, lightening, rain, wind- basically a tornado

Su AM- 8 miles on the trail
PM- 3.5 miles on hill loop- FYI, because I was babysitting I ate a lot ( extreme boredom??), and felt absolutly PREGNANT on this run.

WEEKLY TOTAL- 76.5 miles- not really noticing any changes, so I'm fine with how everythings going.

Training of Week 2/25- 3/2 Two Weeks Til Steves back!

At the start of this week I felt pretty terrible. My legs were pretty heavy and sore, but by the end of the week I was feeling much stronger, and rested. Monday night, I ran into my old track coach, Anne Ensor while running on the xc course! It was soo good to see her again, and I definitely am looking forward to running with her in the future...

Mon- AM- 4 miles on icy NCR trail- sore/slow
PM- lifted 1 hour; 3 miles on XC course w/ 10 x THE DIP hill repeats- felt awful in legs

Tu- AM- 3 miles on hills at home- really sore
PM- 4 miles in rain- feeling better

W- AM- 4 miles on NCR- ok
PM- lifted 1 hour; 4 miles on NCR- fast

Thu AM- 4 miles on trail, very cold- 50 min sauna/ 800 abs; tanned
PM- * acupuncture* 4 miles on trail- feeling better in legs

Fri AM- 6 miles on NCR; 45 min sauna/ 600 abs- Got P AGAIN! tanned
PM- lifted 1 hour; 4 miles on NCR- fast!

Sa AM- 6 miles on NCR; 35 min sauna/600 abs; tanned
PM- 4 miles on NCR

Su- AM- 8 miles on NCR- slow; 35 min sauna/600 abs; tanned
PM- 3 miles easy

Weekly TOTAL: 61 MILES
