Training of 2/18-2/24 " ARE WE THERE YET?!"

So far I've been in this Recovery Phase since the second week of September. From October 2006 through September 2007 I was off completely from my injuries. In September, the rehab phase slowly started... mainly just with stretches and body work...

So, 27 weeks later... here I am! This week had some good runs, and is showing good mileage. Body wise- heres what I'm noting:

- still twisted, maybe less?
- right calf feeling great
- crazy tendinitis in left lower leg
On a scale of 1- 10, ten being Horrible Pain, and 1 being a normal day, I'd say my left leg is a 7.
- My runs are getting faster and stronger...
- I'm trimming down, but still carrying a lot of excess weight.

2/18 M AM-4 mi. on NCR; 40 min sauna w/ 600abs
PM- lifted 1 hour; 3 mi on State XC course, w/ 10x The Dip repeats- Last day of P

2/19 T AM- 4 mi. on NCR in C-ville; 40 min sauna w/600 abs
PM- 4 mi. on NCR in N.F.

2/20 W AM-4 mi on NCR- pretty fast
PM- lifted 1 hr; then 3.5 mi on tredmill- 6:47 pace- no warm up

2/21 Th AM- 4 mi on NCR- snow hard to run on; SORE; * Deep Tissue*
PM- 4 mi on S B rd- very fast

2/22 F AM- 3.5 mi on Tredmill ( ice storm) 30 min Sauna w/500 abs
PM- lifted 1 hr; then 2.5 mi on tred- 6:50 pace- stopped early, felt sick/SORE

2/23 Sa AM- 4 mi on NCR in C ville- Very Icy
PM- 4 mi on NCR in C Ville- still icy :-)

2/24 Su AM- 4 mi on NCR in C Ville- yeah, icy
PM- 5 mi on S B road- very sore- didnt feel too good, perhaps ate too much cheese before.

Total for the week- 53.5 miles
3 lifting sessions
3 workouts- ( 1 hill session, 2 speed sessions)

Training for 2/11- 2/17 One Week Behind

I still am staying below 50 miles. As I've said before, this Recovery phase is all about building strength in my left leg to get my hips even again.

2/11 Mon AM- 4 mi on NCR; 45 min Sauna w/ 500 abs- 6 defgrees, -10 wind chill- BITTER!
PM- Lifted one hour; 4 miles on NCR; *chiropractor*

2/12 Tue AM- 4 mi on NCR; 45 min Sauna w/500 abs
PM- 2 mi on NCR- very icy I was all over the place!

2/13 Wed AM- 3 mi on hills
PM- 4 mi on Tredmill- All at 6:47 pace- no warm up; Lifted one hour,
45 min Sauna, w/500 abs

2/14 Thu AM- 1 mile on NCR, too icy---> 3 mi on Tred @ 6.0 incline; 30 min sauna/abs
PM- 2 mi at home- Low Bld SGR episode; *acupuncture*

2/15 Fri AM- 4 mi on tred- 8 min pace; 30 min sauna/abs *deep tissue*, **Got P** :-(
PM- 4 mi on NCR- feeling pretty sore

2/16 Sa- AM- 4 mi on NCR-sore!
PM- 4 mi on NCR- SORE!

2/17 Su- AM- 6 mi on NCR- sore
PM- off

Total- 50 miles

Training of 2/4- 2/10 "Playing Catch Up"

Here are the details:

Mon- Am: 3 miles on hills; *Lifted one hour*
PM: "Acupuncture*; 2 miles @ xc course ----> dog bite

Tue- AM: 4 miles on NCR----> 30 min sauna
PM: 4 miles on NCR

Wed- AM: 3 miles on hills---->35 min sauna
PM: 3 miles on hills; *Lifted one hour*

Thu- AM: 4 miles on NCR---->Sauna 40 min, with 500 abs; Deep Tissue
PM: 4 miles on NCR ( low bld sgr)

Fri-AM: 4 miles on NCR---> sauna 45 min, 600 abs
PM: 4 miles on NCR

Sat-AM: 4 miles on NCR---> sauna 60 min, 800 abs
PM: 4 miles on NCR- *v.fast* - leg hurting after

Sun-AM: 6 miles on NCR- *first semi longer run*
PM: 3 miles on hills

TOTAL: 52 miles

DOG ATTACK ( and 1/28-2/3 )


Normally I would have posted last weeks workouts on Monday. Unfortunatly, I had the most unpleasant experience of a dog attack this Monday, so this is late.

last week:
Basically, not much new to report.
- acupuncture x 1
-chiropractor x 1
-ran 6 days, took off Sunday as I was hurting a lot (no deep tissue wrk this week)
2 workouts- 1-10x hills at The DIP, and 1- 8x100's at the track in new flats- SWEET!
lifted 3 days, an hour each day


Weekly Total- 38 miles
